For Fall I tapped Brionna, yet another gorgeous employee from my restaurant, and we headed into the big city for some urban Seattle running. Our plan was to rent huge, colorful umbrellas and make Brionna the pop of joy on an otherwise dreary gray day. Something ala ‘Singing in the Rain’. As it turned out, the umbrella shop was out of every color we wanted and our fall product samples were forever delayed. When things fall apart, what can you do but laugh? So we placed Brionna on a dock on Lake Washington and tried to make her laugh…
Like so many of us, when Brionna ‘tried’ to be pretty it came off just a little faux. Come on now, fess up – how many of you have pursed our lips in front of the mirror and tried your model look? But, also like most of us, when she forgot about the camera and just smiled the result was knock-out beauty…
I love the above pictures because Brionna looks so alive, happy, vibrant – but I recently found out she can’t stand how she looks in them. I get it. I have pictures of myself that others love, but I can only focus on my wide nose or double chin. Why do we waste our time with this silly game? We are pure beauty in and out – others can see it, now it’s time to accept it.
Next, we headed to a flower shop in Madison park and Althea and I fell in love with the fall pumpkins displays. She took some amazing pics, but our product didn’t get here until long after Halloween so we never got to use them. So here for your viewing pleasure are an assortment:
My eye is so tuned to Spring’s uber brights right now that these fall colors seem almost odd, but I know come September I’ll crave rust and chocolate and will enjoy looking back at these.
This Saturday we are heading back out to farm land to Carnation’s Tolt Hill Middle School to capture a twist on an old school track work out. In my mind I see spring brights + vintage track + complete frivolity. What will we capture? You’ll have to tune in for the next chapter of the continuing RPF story to see!
